Trying to build muscle, lose fat, recover from injury, improve strength, endurance and power, change all your eating habits and learn to eat better at once is a lot to ask. You cannot do everything simultaneously.
How can you achieve a physical challenge?
The first step is defining the challenge clearly.
Put a flag on a date. It sounds obvious, but can be harder than it seems.
A challenge provides excitement and a reason to get up. Possible goals are countless and deeply personal: your why and motivation, whatever your level or sport.
“Spend more time being active”, “lose fat”, “try a new sport”, “improve a CrossFit personal best”, “feel like yourself again” or “climb a mountain with your family”.
You do not need an extreme competition or race entry. The most meaningful challenges often involve small everyday changes.
Some say happiness comes from improvement, whatever its form or pace.

Start by prioritising
Choose something realistic that you want to achieve within a reasonable time.
And choose one thing.
Prioritise and commit. Do not try to undo an entire holiday in two weeks. Rushing can be counterproductive, especially for health and performance.
We cannot reset overnight like a machine.
Focus on what you want to change; avoid distractions and comparisons.
Follow your own path.
A clear goal supports motivation and helps your sports nutritionist or coach plan within the available time and choose an appropriate strategy.
As Seneca put it, no wind is favourable to someone who does not know where they are sailing.

Create an action plan
Next, create an action plan for your sporting challenge.
People often have a goal, an idea, a dream or something exciting, but never move from thought to action.
To turn intention into planning, choose a start date and an end date.
Break your long-term goal into actions and short-term milestones.
Give yourself time to learn, make progress and celebrate regular achievements.

Empieza un reto, the INDYA podcast

Something with our own personality, covering topics we could discuss endlessly.
Nutrition, sporting performance and technology.
They sound interesting on paper; hearing Javi Guerrero and Clara Montesinos discuss them takes it further.
The podcast is ready: a lovely room, microphones, Amapro chairs and glasses of water. Coasters too, to avoid the clunk!
Will you enjoy listening?
There is only one way to find out.
Find more details in this post about our first episode and the launch of the show.
